Wegovy pen instructions: device types and checking completion

Information scope · General information comparing Korean product guidance, Spain's FlexTouch leaflet and US instructions. It does not establish local availability or identical instructions for every device.

The name Wegovy does not tell you how to operate the pen. Match the device, strength and local leaflet first. The FlexTouch example below comes from Spain's official leaflet; your own instructions and device training take priority.

Identify a multidose or single-dose pen first

Korean guidance describes four prescribed doses in a dial-type Wegovy pen.[1] Spain's FlexTouch also contains four doses.[2] US instructions cover several presentations, including single-dose pens and FlexTouch. Do not infer the device from the country alone.[3]

Preparation and completion in the FlexTouch example

Spain's leaflet specifies a new needle for each injection and a medicine-flow check before the first dose from a new pen. Read the prescribed dose on the counter; do not count clicks. Once the counter reaches 0 during injection, keep the button pressed and the needle under the skin while slowly counting to 6. Do not apply these steps to a single-dose pen.[2]

If medicine leaks or you are unsure what was delivered

Do not estimate a dose from the remaining liquid or give an extra injection yourself. Record the product, device, time, counter and leak details for your clinician or pharmacist. Get medical help promptly for severe symptoms or suspected overdose.[3]

Check needle disposal and storage for your product

Never share a pen. Follow its leaflet and local sharps-disposal rules. In-use storage periods and conditions vary by presentation; do not copy the period from a video about another country's product.[1][2][3]

Frequently asked questions

Can I divide a dose by counting clicks?

Spain's FlexTouch leaflet says not to count clicks to set a dose. Use the prescribed dose and the display for your pen.[2]

Does leftover liquid mean I can use another dose?

Leftover liquid does not establish an extra dose. Korean guidance warns that unapproved dose splitting can deliver inaccurate amounts.[1]
